Course Levels

Level 0

Basic

First time playing tennis, completely beginner.


Level 0 group / Private lessons

Level 1

Basic

Have take classes for a while or for a period of time and have learnt the basic tennis techniques and movements such as forehand and backhand, but can only receive balls from the coach’s spot-fed ball, often have difficulty in finding the contact point, as well as getting stuck or miss the ball. At the learning phase of multi-ball feeding training.

Level 2

Basic

In the improvement stage for forehand and backhand techniques, you have difficulty in finding the power point and contact point, when moving on court to hit the ball, you can easily get stuck and wrong timing/space, the serving action is incomplete and the ball toss is unstable. Volleys and smashes are still in the learning stage, as you still have difficulty locating the exact position to stand and make contact. Lastly, under the control of the coach, you are able to form simple baseline rally, but can be extremely unstable.


Level 2 group / Private lessons / Cardio tennis

Level 2.5

Basic

You have started to play few competition, you can hit forehand, backhand on the baseline while moving around, however the positioning and have an unstable balance when contacting the ball. In a rally you cannot take the initiative to change the direction of the ball (down the line or cross court) hitting power and depth control is unstable. When there are fast ball or changes made to the speed your error rate is relatively high, as well as using a single playing strategy when forming rallies. You have initial moving to the net and volley awareness.

UTR of 2 - 2.99 and with more than 80% reliability. If you do not have a UTR, you can get in to this level by passing the test run by the coach.

Level 3

Basic

Your forehand and backhand began to gradually have stability and you can move around the court to hit the ball stably, and you can move around the court to hit the ball from the baseline but the stance and balance when contacting the ball are unstable. Occasionally you can change the direction of the ball in rallies, the hitting power and depth control is unstable with error rate being relatively high when there are fast-paced balls or the awareness of moving to the net and volley at the net. Also you cannot execute well with the serve, don’t have serve with speed and angles.

UTR of 3 - 3.99 and with more than 80% reliability. If you do not have a UTR, you can get into this level by passing the test run by the coach.

Level 4

Intermediate

You can hit winner points on the forehand and backhand sides and can control the return shots in the desired direction. You need to be able to make predictions upon receiving the ball while implementing a small number of tactics according to the situation. Your basic techniques are not solid and will make unforced errors when you are rallying. Additionally, when the opponent changes the nature of the ball (direction, height, angle), your ability to move forwards and backwards is lacking. You are able to control the drop point for your serve, and you can control the serve returns, but it is inconsistent. You can volley on front of the net and can score a point, but the timing and awareness are still not enough.

UTR of 4 - 4.99 and with more than 85% reliability. If you do not have a UTR, you can get to this level by passing the test run by the coach.


Level 4 group / Private lessons / Cardio tennis / Fitness Lessons / Tennis package

Level 5

Intermediate

You have stability on the baseline, able to maintain a rally and able to change the nature of the ball (Direction, height, angle). You can mobilise the opponent, and have basic offensive and defensive awareness. You are able to move around the tennis court freely and form predictions about the position of the ball and adjust the space between the ball and yourself. You have various combinations for volleys such as the speed or angle, which help you score points in the game. You have tactics with combinations for volleys. The serves are with speed and angle, and can execute first and second serves.

UTR of 5 - 7 and with more than 80% reliability. If you do not have a UTR, you can get in to this level by passing the test run by the coach.
